The Painted Desert has a beautiful charm to it. Driving along in this region, one cannot help but harken back to the early days of Route 66 and the classic American road trip. If one is traveling through this area with an extra few hours or, or days, on their hands, visiting Petrified Forest is a required stop. The park is just off the ramps of Interstate 40 and is open from dawn till dusk.
Here are some things you’ll want to know when visiting Petrified Forest National Park.
