About

Park Junkie is the creation of Todd Andrew Chamberlin, a life-long explorer of the great outdoors. Todd has spent the past 25 years living, working, and recreating in and around national parks. To date, he has visited 57 of the 63 US parks and plans to visit the remaining parks as soon as life’s bizarre occurrences allow.

The goal of The Park Junkie Project is to create an informational media hub through which those who share an interest in our national parks and public lands can access current news and information about those lands, and the issues that involve them.

Our parks and public lands are under constant threat. From those who would simply destroy our Earth’s priceless treasures in an antiquated effort to extract wealth from her flesh, to smooth, tech-savvy business interests who wish to constrict public access to public land, then sell that access back to the citizenry for a profit. The swindlers are always at work.

As John Muir warned us: “Nothing dollarable is safe.”

Thus, it behooves an active society who enjoys freedoms and adventures upon that land that is of the public, to protect both the land itself, and access to that land. For our great public parks and pleasuring-grounds were created not only for the protection and preservation of the natural environment, but also for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.
